The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux heads for Oceania
On Tuesday 4th September, Francis Boutemy, Grand Maître du Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, accompanied Nathalie Escuredo, Chancelière of the GCVB, Grand Maître of the Ordre des Vignerons des Bordeaux – Bordeaux Supérieur, inaugurated the Bordeaux Commanderie in Melbourne, in the reception rooms of the Sofitel Hotel. Alongside Simon Clatworthy, Maître of the Commanderie in Sydney, they inducted the Maître of the new Commanderie in Melbourne, a fine connoisseur of Bordeaux wines, Mr Eugène Chai, who then proceeded to induct fifteen members of his Commanderie.
The following day, as part of “A Night in Bordeaux”, an evening reception and gala dinner for 250 guests was organised by Atout France and Bordeaux’s Tourist Information Centre, for the promotion of Bordeaux City. After dinner, the Grand Maître of the GCVB awarded the title of Ambassadeur des Vins de Bordeaux to Clive Scott, Manager of the Sofitel Hotel and to Laura Anderson, a key figure of the fashion world in Australia.
