Commanderie de Bordeaux in Hamburg – Saint-Émilion in Magnum Evening

On September 11, 2025, the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Hamburg and the Association of Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Émilion hosted a joint event at the Hanse Lounge in the German city.

The afternoon opened with a tasting for around one hundred Commanderie members. Fifteen Grands Crus Classés were showcased across two vintages: the 2022 for all, complemented by one additional vintage of each estate’s choice. Five winemakers made the trip and presented not only their own wines but also those of their fellow classified estates, offering participants a broad overview of Saint-Émilion’s finest.

The evening continued with a dinner, once again at the Hanse Lounge, bringing together twenty-five members of the Commanderie. The same fifteen Grands Crus Classés were served in magnum format, extending the tasting in a convivial setting.

The winemakers present in Hamburg were:

Sylvie Cazes, Château Chauvin, President of the Association of Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Émilion
Valérie Befve, Château Dassault
Magali Malet Serres, Clos de l’Oratoire
Otto Rettenmaïer, Château La Tour Figeac
Thibaut Decoster, Clos des Jacobins

A wonderful momentum that we hope will continue to strengthen the ties between Commanderies and Wine Brotherhoods!
