On Wednesday, 29^th January 2025, a meeting of the Executive Board of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux was held and extended to the Grands Maîtres of the Bordeaux Wine Brotherhoods.

Following this meeting, the Grand Maître of the GCVB and the representatives of the various Bordeaux Wine Brotherhoods walked in procession through the streets of Bordeaux to head for the City Hall to present their wishes for the New Year 2025 to the Mayor, Mr Pierre Hurmic.

Mr Hurmic gave a speech, in which he first paid tribute to the former Mayor of Bordeaux, Nicolas Florian, who died suddenly on January 26^th 2025. He then thanked the Bordeaux winegrowers for their excellent work and the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, for its promotional role throughout the world. The Grand Maître of the GCVB, Jean-Marc Dulong then gave his speech.

Allan Sichel, President of the CIVB and Christophe Château, Director of Communications for the CIVB, also attended this ceremony.

The Syndicates and Bordeaux wine brotherhoods called upon the generosity of winemakers to present to Bordeaux City Hall a superb selection of wines of the region.

A cocktail reception was served directly after the ceremony, in one of the reception rooms of the Palais Rohan, to thank the delegation of Bordeaux wine representatives and numerous guests.
