For the Opening of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Lima: lunch at the Cordon Bleu Institute – CCI, on Friday 8th November and a Grand Tasting of Bordeaux Wines at the French Embassy in Lima, on Saturday 9th November 2024

A “Food and Wine pairing” Lunch was held at the Cordon Bleu Institute, with the Senator Olivier CADIC and directors of French businesses of the CCI (Engie, Vinci, Eiffage, Air France, Schneider, Cordon Bleu, Lycée Franco Péruvien, Bureau Veritas, Veolia, Sodexo, Séché, Legrand, Accor, Coface) 

The wines served during this lunch:

Château Olivier 2021, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Château Maltus 2020, AOC Lalande de Pomerol
Château Nairac 2010 , 2ème Grand Cru Classé en 1855, Barsac

In the afternoon, at 4pm, a Master class, “Today’s Bordeaux Wines”, was presented by Nathalie Escurédo, Winegrower, Bordeaux Wine Educator, Grand Maître of the Ordre des Vignerons de Bordeaux-Bordeaux Supérieur and Chancelière of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux.

The Masterclass was held at the Pullman Hotel, for thirty pupils studying Sommellerie at the Cordon Bleu Institute, members of the Embassy staff and restaurant teams.

Saturday 9th November 2024
From 7 pm to 9 pm,  a Grand Tasting of Bordeaux wines was held at the French Embassy in Lima.

Guests of honour at this evening reception were: the Senator Olivier Cadic, the Ambassador to France in Peru, Française Nathalie Kennedy, the Peruvian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elmer Schialer, the President of the France-Peru Group for cooperation at the Peruvian Congress, Alejandro Aguinaga Recuenco, the Moroccan Ambassador, Amine Chaoudri, the Mayor of Miraflores, Carlos Canales, and San Isidro Nancy Vizurraga, other key figures of the local economy, as well as journalists, sommeliers, restaurant chefs, members of Peruvian wine brotherhoods... 120 people attended this grand tasting event.

La Jurade de Saint-Emilion, was represented by:
Adelghani MAARFI , from Château La Mariotte- Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Les Baillis de Lalande de Pomerol, were represented by:
Nicolas LASSAGNE, from Château Maltus – AOC Lalande de Pomerol

and the Commanderie du Bontemps Médoc & Graves, Sauternes & Barsac, was represented by:
Arjen PEN, from Château Branas Grand Poujeaux
