Bordeaux 2021 Vintage Tasting by the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Cleveland

Bruce Taylor – Educateur – Commanderie de Bordeaux in Cleveland

On June 10th, twenty assembled at the Taylor residence in Cleveland to taste the 2021 vintage samples that were generously dispatched by the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux. The group included three professional sommeliers from the Cleveland area. The tasting was held in an open pavilion in the evening.

The twenty-four wines were divided into five flights, with the flight of white wines tasted last. The reds were organized into rough geographic groupings. Recognizing that these wines are 2021 samples, the Commandeurs were looking for balance and fruit. In general, the wines from the Médoc and Pessac-Léognon showed well and then those from the Libournais. The overall feeling was that most of the wines were nicely balanced and should show well when they arrive on the market.

The Cleveland Commanderie would like to thank all the winegrowers and The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, once again, for the privilege of taking part in this tasting.
