• Château du Taillan 2012, AOC Haut Médoc, Cru Bourgeois

We thank Johanna for her warm welcome for the Commandeurs at Château du Taillan.

Château du Taillan has been a family-owned estate since 1896, but today, it is above all a modern saga, related by women. Nowadays, five sisters manage the estate, located in the outskirts of Bordeaux and near the Médoc. Each sister has her own personality and together they are each making their contribution to the history of this estate, keeping alive a passion for winegrowing and this historical heritage. With its feminine aura, Château du Taillan has succeeded in renewing itself over time. Its wine, charming, powerful and suffused with its owners’ history, has seen the advent of sustainable viticulture, a wide range of wine tourism activities and much more to discover.

Château Beaumont – Cru Bourgeois Supérieur – AOC Haut-Médoc

Afternoon Visit & Tasting, from 4 pm

Anthony Yaigre, Manager of this large estate of 113 hectares and his Cellar Master, Pauline Bahain welcomed the group for a very interesting visit, giving a great deal of information about the methods and approaches used to protect biodiversity in the vineyard. After a walk around among the vines and a visit of the vast winemaking facilities and the barrel storehouse, a tasting was presented in the reception room of the Château. The wine tasted were:

Château Beaumont 2020, AOC Haut-Médoc red (note the 'revamp' of the label, much simpler today)
Château Beaumont 2015, AOC Haut-Médoc red

Château Beaumont, belongs to the company Grands Millésimes de France (the GMF group, associated with the Japanese group, Suntory).

We would like to thank Anthony Yaigre and Pauline Bahain for all their explanations and their warm welcome for the Commandeurs at Château Beaumont.

Established on the left bank of the Gironde, between the villages of Margaux and Saint-Julien, Château Beaumont draws its fineness and delicacy from the deep gravel found in the best soils of the Haut-Médoc area.
Château Beaumont has chosen to use integrated and sustainable viticulture methods according to Terra Vitis ® specifications, aiming to produce grapes of top quality while ensuring the utmost care for the environment.
