At the end of the month of November 2018, the Grand Maître of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux travelled to Japan to attend a series of Commanderie ceremonies which included inductions and a Gala Dinner held in succession by the five Commanderies de Bordeaux in Japan: Fukoka on 19^th November, Sapporo on 22^nd November, Tokyo on 24^th November, Osaka on 27^th November and Nagoya on 29^th November.

Fifty new Japanese Commadeurs were inducted at these events. The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux now groups together 89 Commanderies de Bordeaux, based in 28 countries worldwide.
