The Grands Crus Classés 1855 wishes to express its profound gratitude to the firefighters, emergency services, public authorities, forestry professionals and countless volunteers whose courage, dedication and tireless commitment have been instrumental in protecting our region. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the wine estates that have generously provided equipment and personnel to support the firefighting efforts.

The Grands Crus Classés 1855 has been deeply touched by the many messages of support and concern received from wine lovers, collectors and professionals across the world. These expressions of solidarity are a powerful reminder of the unique bond that unites Bordeaux's great wines with their international community. We would like to reassure all enthusiasts of the Great Wines of Bordeaux that, to date, none of the vineyards in the Gironde has been affected by the fires.

Following consultations with leading viticultural and scientific experts, the current assessment is reassuring: no impact on grape quality has been observed. According to the experts, "At this stage, early exposure to smoke represents a low-sensitivity factor and no adverse effects on the grapes have been identified." It is also important to emphasize that the fires are located more than 20 kilometres from our vineyards. Moreover, the severe wildfires that struck the Gironde in 2022 occurred at a similar stage of the growing season and ultimately had no impact on the quality or sensory characteristics of the wines.

Thanks to the remarkable efforts of the emergency services and the welcome arrival of rainfall, the situation is now stabilising. The vines continue to develop under excellent conditions, and all current indications suggest that the 2026 vintage will be an early one with the promise of exceptional quality.
