Alain Cany - Maître of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Saigon

We had a lovely Commanderie dinner, on Wednesday evening, March 28^th 2024 at the Park Hyatt Saigon Pool House, with the presence of our special guest François Trinh Duc, who was inducted as Honorary Commandeur of the Commanderie de Saigon at this occasion.

François played fly-half for the French XV rugby team, 66 times international and he played for Bordeaux UBB.

He is of Vietnamese origin by his grandfather and set up an association named «Rugby Cung Nhau» « Rugby together », to educate orphans and deprived children through this sport.

Thanks to our charitable auction, we raised the equivalent of 20 000 Euros for his association, with lots of magnums of wines from Angelus/ Lascombes/ Gloria/ Quinault l'Enclos and Song de Bong, as well as rugby balls and jerseys worn by François or by his opponents (England and New Zealand).

60 guests attended this splendid evening event. The superb wines which accompanied the delicious food were: Les Hauts de Smith White 2019, by the renowned estate in Pessac-Léognan, Château Smith Haut Lafitte; Château Giscours 2015, a Margaux 3^rd Grand Cru Classé; from the ancient and revered estate of Pessac-Léognan, Domaine de Chevalier 2010; and Château Grand Puy Lacoste 2005, a 5^th Grand Cru Classé de Pauillac.
