Commanderie de Bordeaux in Copenhagen - Induction of the new Maître

On 4th May 2019, the Grand Maître of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, Francis Boutemy, travelled to Denmark to attend an Exceptional Ceremony organised for the induction of the new Maître of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Copenhagen, Carl Jensen, who takes over from Jørn Christensen.

Jørn Christensen was Maître of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Copenhagen for 17 years. He coordinated the Commanderie with conviviality in atmosphere of friendship, without ever overlooking his role as representative of Bordeaux wines. For everything he has achieved, the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux would like to express its sincerest thanks and all the appreciation of the men and women responsible for Bordeaux’s vines and wines.

Carl Jensen is the new Maître. Carl is in his mid-fifties and a highly educated person. He is Director of an investment bank. He is an extremely good wine taster with great knowledge of Bordeaux wines and at the same time he is a very easy going person among the Commandeurs. He has also been a member of the Board for many years.

The induction ceremony took place in central Copenhagen, at Odd-Fellow Mansion, an edifice built between 1750 and 1800.

85 people attended this special event, followed by a delicious gala banquet accompanied by a selection of fine Bordeaux wines, presented for this grand occasion.
