"Esprit de Bordeaux", the wines of Pessac-Léognan

A new logo for the Pessac-Léognan appellation, «Esprit de Bordeaux». Jacques Lurton, President of the Wine Syndicate of Pessac-Léognan, speaks of a «logo in movement and consensual, easier to incorporate into labels*, with or without signature». A great deal of thought went into the conception of this logo over a period of 18 months, including the 70 wine estates of the AOC (1 880 hectares in production for 10 million bottles sold).

«We want to move towards the soul of Bordeaux wines we wish to represent» continues Jacques Lurton, announcing an «an ambitious, bold and thoughtful choice. Our wines are the embodiment of what Bordeaux represents today, or what Bordeaux should represent, or could at times have represented: passion, respect for the terroir, moderation, fine balance, a refusal of excess in all things, faith in truth, fruitiness, a certain belief in delicacy… These are what we believe our true values are …..”
