With 100,000 visitors, the "Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival", held from 26th to 29th October 2023, along Hong Kong’s iconic Central Bay, confirmed the high expectations of Chinese consumers for Bordeaux wines.

This Asian version of the "Bordeaux Wine Festival", co-organised by the interprofession of Bordeaux wines (CIVB) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board since 2008, was back after 5 years of disruption, in a market that has shrunk considerably since the Covid health crisis, but one which over the past few months seems to be bouncing back.

The thirty or so winemakers and merchants who made the trip to Hong Kong were able present for tasting Bordeaux wines in all the appellations and all the colours, to a huge diversity of visitors - young people, office workers, families, etc. 36,000 tokens were sold, so in total more than 20 000 glasses of Bordeaux wines were tasted in the Pavillon des Appellations.

In its own pavilion, The Bordeaux Wine School provided numerous workshops in Mandarin to give an introduction to these wines in an entertaining way and show all the diversity and specific features of Bordeaux wines.

2 500 people were won over by this approach.
