We had just under 50 attendees - a very complete attendance from our Commanderie chapter (who were delighted to participate in a very different type of event), as well as 9 faculty members from the Johnson & Wales University Food and Beverage Program (many masters of wine, and all active teachers of wine).

The event was such fun!  We set up 8 areas - one for each of the appellations in the Medoc.  Attendees played a game - they had to match the 'clue' with the appellation to properly guess the history or wine traits associated with each appellation.  If they answered at least 5 correctly, they were entered for the prize drawings (the goody bags!). Live music created an animated atmosphere, and it was surprising to see how competitive our group became!

There were visual clues at each station to help our participants. For example, Pauillac is sometimes referred to as 'an iron fist in a velvet glove'...so we displayed a beautiful sculpture of a hand, holding a velvet glove at the Pauillac station.

This event was followed by the induction of two new Commandeurs and a gala dinner.
