The new concept of the Eat Festival definitely appealed to Belgians!
Whether Flemish or Walloon, Belgians love Bordeaux wines…. and they showed it !
The Eat Festival was back in Brussels, from 29th September to 2nd October 2022.
Four days of this festival held in a new venue (Tour & Taxis, a former industrial zone now rehabilitated, located alongside the Canal of Brussels), and with a new concept combining Brussel’s bistronomy and the diversity of Bordeaux wines.
An exhibition area of 1 400 square metres was dedicated to Bordeaux and included:
• A wine bar run by six winegrowers and wine merchants, representing Bordeaux’s new generation : 11 000 glasses of Bordeaux wine were served (every AOC and every colour)
- Workshops and entertaining activities proposed by the Bordeaux Wine School – CIVB in an Agora (interactive workshops lasting 30 minutes – “Bordeaux Quiz”, “The Aromas of wine”, “Bordeaux sparkles” and food-wine pairing workshops presented jointly with local chefs) and a Guest Table (fun activities based on themes “Bordeaux Tonic” and “Wine Casino”)
• More than 2 500 people had an introduction to Bordeaux wines thanks to these workshops, and this number has broken all the records!
- An immersive area presented by Bordeaux Wine Trip/Irresistible Wine Region, on the theme of wine tourism in the Bordeaux region, with a city/beach/wine setting, in a “slow travel” ambiance.
