On Friday, March 19, 2026, the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Cologne was officially inaugurated, marking it as the 9th Commanderie de Bordeaux in Germany and the 106th worldwide!
The ceremony was presided over by Jean-Marc Dulong, Grand Maître of the GCVB, accompanied by a delegation of representatives from various Bordeaux brotherhoods:

The new Comanderie is led by its Maître, Christoph Schulz, assisted by Holger Schneider as cellar master, as well as ten other Commanders inducted during the Chapter:

The event took place at the WineBank in Cologne, beginning with a theoretical masterclass from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for 27 participants, led by Nathalie Escuredo, certified by the Bordeaux Wine School. This was followed by a wine tasting featuring wines donated for the occasion by the Bordeaux wine brotherhoods, led by the winemakers in attendance as well as Gerhild Burkard, a trainer from the Bordeaux Wine School based in Cologne. At 7:30 p.m., the official ceremony and inductions took place, followed by a gala dinner for 23 guests, prepared by Michelin-starred chef Torben Schuster of the Gut Lärchenhof restaurant.
