Lalande-de-Pomerol – France's first Winegrowers’Syndicate  

The Lalande-de-Pomerol Winegrowers’ Syndicate was established on 18^th February 1884.

As you can see from the decree (excerpt from registers of the Gironde Prefecture), this is a crucially important fact for the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, therefore claiming it was the FIRST WINEGROWERS’ SYNDICATE in FRANCE to be established, followed closely a few months later by that of Saint-Emilion.
